Kutlugh-Murad-inak MedressehKutlugh-Murad-inak Medresseh laid the foundation of an ensemble at the east gates of Ichan-Kala. It was built in 1804-1812 by All-kuli-khan’s uncle who was interred under the floor of the central porch. The gates of its construction are carved on the wooden doors. The lay-out of the Medresseh is notable for the just proportions of the standard canonic fashion established for higher ecclesiastic institution in Central Asia in late middle Ages. The edifice has a linear-axle composition comprising a right-angled courtyard with four aivans, connected with small room for the disciples and instructors. There is a suite of five halls arranged parallel to the main faзade; those at the borders form a lecture-hall (dastar-khana) and mosque; the ones located in the middle make up units of a curved passage leading to the courtyard (mionsarai). The courtyard has a well (khuduk) roofed with a cupola. The dimensions – 57x44m, the courtyard – 5.2m. |
