Alla-kuli-khan Medresseh

Alla-kuli-khan Medresseh went up in 1834 – 1835 (which an inscription on a column of the entrance door witnesses) on a site which was enclosed on three sides by the structures of Alla-kuli-khan Tim, Khodjam-berdy-biy Medresseh and arcade leading from the gates of Palvan-Darvaza at the place where the wall of Ichan-kala had reached. It was one of the biggest medressehs in Khiva and became an additional storey of its adjacent edifices. The municipal library, which the disciples, of all the medressehs in Khiva made use of, was accommodated in the Medresseh. The dimensions – 62x47m, the courtyard – 34.5x29.5m.
